(Firebase Analytics)
(Meta SDK)
Meta SDK
(Firebase Analytics)

Privacy Policy
The developer of Outtimer (the “app”) does not collect or keep personal information that
identifies you. The developer runs no server that collects or stores personal information; the only
request the app makes to the developer’s site is the public-holiday list described in section 3. The developer looks only at aggregated app-usage statistics
through Google’s Firebase Analytics (section 4).
The free version shows ads, and to serve them the advertising SDK of Google LLC (Google
AdMob) collects some information directly from your device (section 4). To measure ad
performance, the Meta SDK of Meta Platforms, Inc. also sends some information from your device to
Meta, and, for app-usage statistics, Firebase Analytics of Google LLC sends some to Google,
in both the free version and Premium (section 4). If you buy Premium, the app neither
requests nor shows ads, but the Meta SDK and Firebase Analytics keep running. Premium payments are handled by Apple and
Google (section 6). In this policy, “Premium” means Pro (the monthly or yearly subscription and the lifetime
purchase) as well as the earlier Premium that existing buyers own.
Effective: 2026-10-18
Last updated: 2026-10-18 (Hong Kong added to the public-holiday lists. 2026-10-17: “Premium” now includes Pro, ads during the Pro trial, purchase steps, on-time finishes, rating requests, one-shot preset events, Pro trial events, free-version reminder events, the user property “tier” and an iOS Keychain marker and trial start date added)
1. Personal information the developer collects
The developer collects no personal information that identifies you. The developer does not
collect, store or receive anything that could identify you, including your name, email address,
phone number, contacts or photos.
There is no sign-up and no login.
App-usage statistics (such as launches, time spent in the app and which features are used) are collected by Google’s
Firebase Analytics. The developer receives no information that identifies a user, and looks at the
data in the Firebase / Google Analytics console only as aggregated statistics (section 4).
What Google collects directly to serve ads in the free version, what Meta collects directly to
measure ad performance, and what Google collects for app-usage statistics is described in section 4.
2. Information stored on your device
The app stores the following on your device only, so that it can work:
Presets: name, deadline time, wake-up alarm time, announcement interval, repeat days, sound,
vibration and ringtone settings
The running session: start time, deadline, paused state
Whether a Pro subscription, the lifetime purchase or the earlier Premium is active (on/off flags only)
An iOS Keychain marker: it records only that the app was installed before a given version and the date the Pro trial
began, contains no personal information, and is used solely to keep existing users’ features free and to stop a
reinstall from granting a second trial. The trial start date is also stored on the device with the rest.
My ring: a copy of a music file you chose yourself, and its file name
iOS: the first 29 seconds are converted and stored inside the app.
Android: a copy is stored inside the app. On Android 10 and later another copy goes into
your device’s Alarms folder so the wake-up alarm can play it; that copy may be visible in
a file manager and to other apps that can read audio files.
The app reads only the one file you pick in the system’s file picker, and it does not ask
for permission to access your storage.
The app never transmits this information, and the developer has no access to it.
If your operating system’s device backup is switched on (iCloud Backup, Android Auto Backup), this
data may be included in that backup as part of your device’s data. That is governed by your own
device settings and is not controlled by the app.
3. Network communication
The developer runs no server that collects or stores personal information. The app uses the internet in five cases only:
Ads in the free version: the Google AdMob SDK talks to Google’s servers to request, show
and measure ads. On a device where Premium is already known, the app neither initializes the
ads SDK nor requests ads. During the 7-day Pro trial it requests no ads, but it does initialize the ads SDK.
Ad measurement: the Meta SDK talks to Meta’s servers. It runs from the first launch, in the
free version and in Premium alike (section 4).
App-usage statistics: Firebase Analytics talks to Google’s servers, in the free version and
in Premium alike (section 4).
Premium purchase and checks: when you open or return to the app it checks the product’s
price and your purchases, and it talks to the App Store or Google Play billing system when you
buy or restore.
Public-holiday list refresh: at most once a day the app downloads a public-holiday list
file from polroute.com (one of Korea, Taiwan, Japan or Hong Kong, picked from the device region or
language, for example …/holidays/KR.json). The file is served through Cloudflare. Like any web request, it carries the device’s IP
address and standard request headers, which the web host or CDN may record in access logs.
Nothing else is sent: no identifiers, no preset data. If the download
fails, the app uses the list built into it.
The app never sends anything listed in section 2 (presets, sessions, My ring).
4. Advertising (Google AdMob), ad measurement (Meta SDK) and app-usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)
The free version shows an ad at the bottom of the screen. Ads are provided by Google LLC, which may
collect the following directly from your device through its advertising SDK. The developer
neither receives nor can view this information.
Advertising identifiers: the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking) and
the Android advertising ID
Device and app information: device model, OS version, language, app version and similar
Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it
Ad interactions: ad impressions, clicks and other interactions
Diagnostics: error and performance logs from the advertising SDK
On Android, Privacy Sandbox features (ad topics, ad measurement)
It is used to serve ads (personalised unless you opt out; on iOS only if you allow tracking), to
measure ad performance, and
to prevent invalid clicks and fraud. Retention and processing follow Google’s policies.
If you buy Premium, the app neither requests nor shows ads. The ad disappears at once, and
from the next launch the app does not initialize the ads SDK (AdMob) either. During the 7-day Pro trial the app
also neither requests nor shows ads, but it initializes the ads SDK so the ad can return as soon as the trial ends. The Meta SDK and Firebase Analytics below,
however, keep running whether or not you buy Premium.
Personalised ads and how to opt out
Information about how you use apps, such as advertising identifiers, may be used for personalised
ads. You can opt out at any time, and every feature of the app keeps working if you do.
iOS: the first time you open the app, it asks whether to allow tracking. If
you don’t, no advertising identifier (IDFA) is provided. You can change this at any time in
Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android: you can delete or reset your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy (or Google) >
Ads. Menu names vary by device.
If you don’t want ads at all, you can buy Premium.
Ad measurement (Meta SDK)
The app includes the Meta SDK (Facebook SDK core) of Meta Platforms, Inc. (USA). It is used to
measure whether the developer’s app-install ads on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) led to an install or
a purchase. This SDK does not show ads, and it runs from the first launch, in the free version
and in Premium alike. The developer receives no information about individual users, only
aggregated statistics in Meta’s ad tools.
The Meta SDK automatically sends the following to Meta’s servers:
Device and app information: device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version,
mobile carrier and similar
An anonymous identifier assigned by the Meta SDK
SDK crash and diagnostic reports
On Android, the Google Play install referrer (which store listing or ad led to the install)
Advertising identifiers: the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking) and
the Android advertising ID
Your IP address
It is used to measure and optimize the developer’s ads on Meta’s services (to see which ad led to
an install or purchase). Meta processes this information under its own policy, and retention
follows Meta’s policy too.
Every feature of the app keeps working if you use the settings below. They only keep the
advertising identifier from Meta, however. Without it, the install, launch and purchase events,
device information, IP address and the SDK’s anonymous identifier are still sent, and nothing in
the app turns the Meta SDK’s transfer off (Premium does not either). Deleting the app stops it.
iOS: if you don’t allow tracking, Meta receives no IDFA. You can change this at any time in
Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android: you can delete or reset your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy (or Google) >
Ads.
If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, you can disconnect on Meta’s side in Accounts Center >
“Your activity off Meta technologies”.
Buying Premium does not stop the Meta SDK.
App-usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)
The app includes Firebase Analytics of Google LLC. It lets the developer see how the app is used
(number of users, new installs, retention, time spent, and the spread of countries, devices, OS
versions and app versions) as aggregated statistics, and improve the app. It runs in the free
version and in Premium alike, from the app’s launch (on Android the SDK starts whenever the app’s
process starts, but sessions are counted only when the app is opened on screen). The app uses the events
Firebase collects automatically plus events of its own that report which features are used
(listed below). The developer receives no
information that identifies a user and looks at the data in the Firebase / Google Analytics
console only as aggregated statistics.
Firebase Analytics automatically sends the following to Google’s servers:
An app-instance ID and a Firebase installation ID: identifiers Firebase generates at random for each installation, and
regenerates if you reinstall the app
Device and app information: device model, OS and version, app version, language and, on iOS,
the vendor identifier (IDFV)
Usage events: first launch, app sessions and time spent in the app (engagement), app updates
and OS updates, on Android app removal and data clearing, and in-app purchase events
App feature-use events (recorded by the app itself):
which tab is opened (Today, Presets, Timer, Settings)
a session start: how it was started (the Home start button, a quick timer, the home or
lock-screen widget, or the wake alarm’s “start preparing”), whether it is a deadline preset or
a timer, sound or vibration mode, the announcement interval, how many minutes were left until
the deadline, and whether the preset has a wake alarm
a session end: finished, deadline reached or cancelled, and for finished, how many minutes
before the deadline
a preset saved: deadline preset or timer, new or edited, wake alarm on or off, and the number
of repeat days
your answer to a wake alarm in the app (start preparing, snooze 5 minutes, or turn off)
that the Premium page was opened, and from where (Settings, ring upload, the trial chip, reminder and end screen, the locked weekly repeat or
holiday-aware smart repeat, the free-version card on the Today screen, or the “Auto-repeat with Pro” button of the
free version’s morning reminder)
the steps of a Pro purchase: the plan picked on the paywall, the purchase started, completed, failed (cancelled or
an error) and restored; only the product (monthly, yearly, lifetime, or the earlier Premium) and the failure reason are
recorded, never payment details
whether a session ended on time (Done tapped before the deadline, or the deadline alarm
turned off in the app)
the 7-day Pro trial: that it started, that the app was first opened after its “trial ends tomorrow” reminder
was due (an approximation: it cannot know whether the system showed the reminder), and that the trial-ended
screen was shown. These events carry no values.
that the app asked the system to show its rating prompt (the system decides whether it shows;
no rating or review text is received)
whether a one-time preset (no repeat days) that switched itself off was turned back on (the
switch in the Presets tab, saving it in the editor, “On tomorrow too” on the Today screen or a reminder’s button), or stayed off past a following weekday
deadline, without its name or time
the free version’s evening reminder (“Same time tomorrow?”): that the app was first opened after its
scheduled time (an approximation: it cannot know whether the system showed it; no values), and whether the
“Turn on” button or the notification body was tapped. The preset name in these reminders is local notification
text on your device only; it is never sent or recorded.
that a custom ring was uploaded (only that it happened)
five user properties: whether the earlier Premium (supporter) is active, your tier (supporter, pro, legacy, trial or
free: which features your version unlocks; not personal data), which theme is selected, how many deadline
presets you keep (0 to 3, or 4 or more), and how many of them have a wake alarm on (0, 1, or
2 or more)
These events never include preset names, deadline or wake-up clock times, or ring file
names, only categories, counts and differences in minutes.
An approximate location (country, region, city) derived from your IP address. Google Analytics
does not store the IP address itself.
Advertising identifiers: the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA, only if you allow tracking) and
the Google advertising ID on Android (unless you deleted it in system settings; if you reset it, the new ID is sent)
Ad usage: in the free version, impressions and clicks of the AdMob ads are also recorded by
Firebase Analytics (not applicable in Premium, which shows no ads)
It is used to compile app-usage statistics and improve the app. Google processes this information
under its own policies. Individual event data is deleted according to the Google Analytics
data-retention setting (up to 14 months); aggregated reports can remain after that.
Every feature of the app keeps working if you use the settings below. They only keep the
advertising identifier out, however; the rest is still sent. Nothing in the app turns Firebase
Analytics off, and Premium does not stop it. Deleting the app does.
iOS: if you don’t allow tracking, no IDFA is provided. You can change this at any time in
Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android: deleting your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy (or Google) > Ads keeps it from
being sent. Resetting it only replaces it with a new ID, which is still sent.

app from a preset with “Use sound” on (only while you haven’t answered yet)
Full-screen notifications (Android 14 and later): when you turn on a wake-up alarm without
that permission, through a Settings page
You can use the app without allowing any of them. If you don’t allow notifications, however, you
may miss announcements while the app is not on screen. You can withdraw any permission at any time
in your device’s Settings app.
6. Premium in-app purchase
Pro subscriptions (monthly or yearly, auto-renewing), the lifetime purchase and the earlier Premium purchase for existing buyers are handled by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google). You manage and cancel subscriptions in the store. The developer
receives no payment details, such as your name or card number. The app only checks the purchase
status of the product on your device to turn Premium on. Payments and refunds follow each store’s
policies.
7. Spoken announcements
The remaining-time announcements use the speech synthesis provided by your operating system
(AVSpeechSynthesizer on iOS, TextToSpeech on Android). The app does not use the microphone, and it
does not record or transmit any audio.
How the synthesis engine behaves depends on the TTS engine installed on your device and its
settings, which the app does not control.
8. Third parties and processors
The developer does not share your personal information with any third party. The only processing
the developer entrusts to anyone is the aggregation of app-usage statistics, which it entrusts to
Google LLC (Firebase Analytics). The other companies below process information directly through
features built into the app:

Information
Purpose
Google LLC
The information in section 4
Serving and measuring ads in the free version
Meta Platforms, Inc.
The Meta SDK information in section 4
Measuring Meta ad performance
Google LLC
The Firebase Analytics information in section 4
Aggregating app-usage statistics (processing entrusted by the developer)
Apple Inc. / Google LLC
Payment information
Premium purchase and restore
9. International transfers
To serve ads in the free version, the information in section 4 is sent to Google’s servers. The
table below is about Google ads; Meta and Firebase Analytics have their own tables after it.
The United States and other countries where Google operates servers
Information
As listed in section 4
When and how
Over the network when the free version or the Pro trial initializes the ads SDK, and whenever the free version requests or shows an ad
Purpose
Serving ads, measuring ad performance, preventing invalid clicks and fraud
Retention
As set by Google’s policies
How to refuse
The personalised-ad settings in section 4. To stop the transfers made for Google ads, buy Premium (from the launch after the purchase is known, the app neither initializes the ads SDK nor requests ads)
The Meta SDK (section 4) also sends information to Meta’s servers. Buying Premium does not stop this.
The United States and other countries where Meta operates servers
Information
As listed under the Meta SDK in section 4
When and how
Over the network while the app runs (first launch, app launch, purchases). On Android this includes when the app starts in the background, for example from a home-screen widget, an alarm or a reboot
Purpose
Measuring and optimizing Meta ad performance
Retention
As set by Meta’s policies
How to refuse
The settings in section 4 only withhold the advertising identifier (decline “Allow Tracking” on iOS, delete or reset the advertising ID on Android). Nothing in the app turns the whole transfer off, and Premium does not stop it; deleting the app does. You can disconnect on Meta’s side in Accounts Center
Firebase Analytics (section 4) also sends information to Google’s servers. Buying Premium does not stop this.
The United States and other countries where Google operates servers
Information
As listed under Firebase Analytics in section 4
When and how
Over the network while the app is in use. On Android the SDK starts whenever the app’s process starts
Purpose
Compiling app-usage statistics and improving the app
Retention
Individual event data is deleted according to the Google Analytics data-retention setting (up to 14 months); aggregated reports can remain after that
How to refuse
The settings in section 4 only withhold the advertising identifier (decline “Allow Tracking” on iOS, delete the advertising ID on Android; a reset ID is sent too). Nothing in the app turns the transfer off and Premium does not stop it; deleting the app does
10. Retention and deletion
The developer holds no personal information. All the developer sees is aggregated statistics in
the Firebase / Google Analytics console.
Information stored on your device is deleted when you delete it yourself or when you delete the
app. On Android, however, the copy of My ring in the Alarms folder may remain after the app
is deleted; you can delete it yourself in a file manager. The iOS Keychain marker (the existing-user flag and the trial start date) may also remain on the device after
the app is deleted, as the Keychain works; it contains no personal information.
Retention and deletion of what Google and Meta collect follow their respective policies.
Individual Firebase Analytics event data is deleted according to the Google Analytics
data-retention setting (up to 14 months).
11. Children
The app is not directed at children. The developer collects no personal information that identifies anyone,
whatever their age.
12. Your rights
Because the developer collects and holds no personal information and sees only aggregated
statistics, there is nothing to ask the developer to access, correct, delete or stop processing. The information stored on your device is
under your own control.
For information processed by Google and Meta, you can opt out of personalised ads or withhold the advertising identifier with the settings in
section 4 (the rest of the Meta SDK’s and Firebase Analytics’ transfer stops only when you delete the app), or exercise your rights through the channels described
in their privacy policies.
If this policy changes, the change and its effective date will be posted on this page. Significant
changes will also be announced with an app update.
Effective 2026-10-18: Hong Kong added to the countries and regions whose public-holiday list is
downloaded (the request sends the same information)
Effective 2026-10-17: a download of the public-holiday list from polroute.com, at most once a
day, sending nothing beyond the IP address and standard request headers
Effective 2026-10-17: new feature-use events (the steps of a Premium purchase, on-time finishes,
rating-prompt requests, one-time presets turned back on or missed, the Pro trial’s start, reminder and end screen, the free version’s evening reminder), the user property “tier” and
an iOS Keychain marker that flags existing users and holds the trial start date; the preset limit is gone, so it no longer appears
among where the Premium page opens; Pro subscription and lifetime purchases and the plan-selection event are added; “Premium” is defined to include Pro, and the ads SDK during the Pro trial is described
Effective 2026-10-15: app-usage statistics and app feature-use events, including preset counts
(Firebase Analytics)
Effective 2026-10-10: ads in the free version (Google AdMob), the Meta ad measurement SDK, the
Premium in-app purchase, wake-up alarm permissions, My ring
Effective 2026-09-22: first published (English and Japanese added 2026-09-23)
